Prominent KPs meet VHP general secy

JAMMU, July 28: The annual Buda Amarnath Yatra will start from Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas early tomorrow morning with first batch of over 2000 pilgrims being flagged off by national general secretary VHP Miland Prande.
A Hawan was performed at Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas today by VHP and Bajrang Dal as a mark of good omen for the beginning of the annual yatra. On the occasion, Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, ADG Police, Mukesh Kumar, BD national convener, Neeraj Dhanoria, VHP J&K president, Leela Karan Sharma, Baba Amarnath Buda Amarnath Yatri Niyas president, Pawan Kohli, VHP working president, Rajesh Gupta, VHP senior vice president, Karan Singh, Sudershan Khajuria general secretary VHP, Shakti Dutt Sharma, vice president VHP its media secretary, Rajesh Bhasin and a large number of VHP and BD activists were present.
Speaking on the occasion, Miland Prande said that the Bajrang Dal started the Buda Amarnath yatra in 2005 and all the Hindus who had migrated from that belt of Poonch and Rajouri returned to their homes after the start of the yatra as it gave them a moral boosting.
He said, while Swami Amarnath Ji yatra runs for two months a year the Buda Amarnath Ji Yatra runs for entire year as large number of people visit the holy temple for the whole year.
The first batch of Yatris which will leave Yatri Niwas early tomorrow morning will have a night stay at Poonch Base Camp where from they will proceed for darshan of Buda Amarnath early next day morning.
This year all the historical and religious places up to Poonch have been included into Yatra itinerary. On return the yatris will come to Jammu after performing darshan at holy Shiv Khori shrine.
Speaking on the occasion, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Ramesh Kumar and ADG Police, Mukesh Kumar assured all facilities to pilgrims from the administration including their safety and security.
Earlier the VHP general secretary Miland Prande held a meeting with some prominent Kashmiri Pandits at Shakti Ashram Rehari. They discussed the prevailing situation in Kashmir, issue of package employees and other minority community employees working in Valley, their safety and security besides, honourable and dignified return and rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits back in Valley. The KP leaders also presented a portrait of Swami Amarnath Ji to Miland Prande on the occasion.
The prominent members of the community who met the VHP leader included Dr K N Pandita, P L Koul Budgami, Kiran Wattal convener, Vishaw Kashmiri Samaj, T N Koul, B L Dhar, Chand Ji Kher, Vir Saraf, NaveenChaloo, Dr Sohan Lal, Sunil Nagri and Bharat Kachroo. The meeting was also attended by VHP working president J&K Rajesh Gupta.
