UDHAMPUR, Jan 12:A major fire has engulfed vast area of Marmat-Batote forest division here.
According to Forest officials, fire broke out yesterday and the blazes have spread in large area of Marmat forest belt. As operation to extinguish the fire could not be started, locals in Marmat said that it has endangered their lives and scores of birds, animals have so far died due to thick smoke triggered by fire.
