JAMMU, Aug 25: Goods worth lakhs got destroyed in a fire that broke out in the record room on the rooftop of a car showroom on Akhnoor road, falling under the jurisdiction of Nowabad police station.
“A fire broke out this afternoon in Jammu Motors car showroom located on Akhnoro Road here”, Fire and Emergency Services spokesperson said, adding that three fire tenders and a team of fire fighters immediately pressed into service.
The fire broke out due to short circuit inside the record room on the rooftop of the showroom, which was being used as account section”, he added.
He said that goods nearly Rs 3 lakh comprising computers, air conditioners and CCTVs got damaged in the fire.
No injury was reported while timely action prevented major tragedy and the fire was timely doused, said the spokesperson.
Nowabad police has taken cognizance in this regard.
