JAMMU, Mar 28: Acting against the rumour mongers and people sharing fake messages on social media platforms, Cyber Police Station Jammu today registered FIR against unknown persons under relevant sections of IT Act and IPC.
“An FIR has been lodged for uploading a fake order with a forged signature of Principal Secretary to the Home Department Government of Jammu and Kashmir in respect of order for restoration of 4g mobile internet services in the UT of J&K,” said SP Cyber Crime Sandeep Mehta.
He said that by a uploading fake order the miscreants had mislead the general public, adding that Cyber Police will leave no stone unturned to get hold of the actual culprit who uploaded this fake order.
Mehta has warned that strict action will be taken against those who forward or share any news item or order copy without checking its authenticity and correctness.
