The experts delivered lecturers on the structure of the Goods and Service Tax and a healthy discussion took place with regard to the present VAT system and coming GST.
Sukhpal Singh, while interacting with the traders said that there is widespread consensus in economic and business circles that implementation of the GST would be transformative for the Indian economy in its pursuit of rapid growth. The fact is that the planned GST would replace a whole host of existing taxes, duties, customs, excises, and surcharges, all of which vary from State to State, which will not only raise revenue for the Government, but also reduce costs for businesses.
The participant applauded the efforts of the Finance department for organizing this informative seminar. Vote of thanks was presented by Rizwan Asgar, Commercial Taxes Officer Rajouri circle.
