JAMMU, Oct 25: Federation Chamber of Industries Kashmir (FCIK) held an Annual General Meeting (AGM) at FCIK house, Sanat Nagar, Srinagar today.
Secretary general, FCIK, Ovees Qadir Jamie in a press statement said that the unit holders across Kashmir valley participated in the meeting which includes all Industrial Estates and districts of Valley. Jamie in his welcome address to members threw light on various industrial issues, polices and FCIK’s approach on the redressal of the issues.
President FCIK, Shahid Kamili addressed the house and informed the members about their achievement in the last two years and the progress of the FCIK on various fronts in redressal of the Industrial issues faced by the unit holders. He said that it has been tough last few years as after reorganization of the state and back to back pandemic.
The unit holders deliberated on the vital issues of the agenda which includes passing of minutes of previous AGM, Financial accounts and other issues. The main focus of the AGM was the amendments made in the constitution and its adoption. The FCIK has earlier framed the Constitution Review Committee (CRC) to draft the constitution for the smooth running of FCIK and to eliminate the ambiguities. The draft constitution was presented in the AGM before general body and it has been debated in the meeting after `speaker’ threw it open for debate. The members presented their view and suggestions and asked the CRC for clarification on some of the vital points mentioned in the constitution.
After a debate on the same the CRC member Syed Shakeel Qalandhar addressed the house and provided clarification of the draft proposal. The Speaker, Manzoor Qadri put the new amended constitution to vote before the house and the same was approved.
The FCIK in the AGM also framed the nine-members Election Commission to hold the election as per approved new constitution. The term of the Administrative Council has expired and it has been resolved the president FCIK Shahid Kamili, secretary general, Jamie and secretary finance Altaf Ahangar will be care taking body of the FCIK till the election process is completed.
