Jammu, Apr 6: Former MLC and senior Congress leader Ravinder Sharma has lashed out at the Centre and State Government for their failure to fulfill the commitments with the displaced community of 1947, 1965 & 1971 and demanded sanction of full package for them as recommended by then state government in the year 2014.
Sharma held a series of interactions with the representatives of Displaced Persons in Jammu & Rajouri Districts and said that they are critical of the denial of full package, as repeatedly committed by the BJP leadership before the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections and only a meager installment of Rs 5.5 lakh is being provided as against promised amount of Rs 30 lakh by the BJP and recommended by the NC-Congress State Government.
There were other components of the State package like reservations in Central services and professional courses to their wards. Now, the Central Government at the fag end of their 5 year term, they should sanction the rest of the package and fulfill other commitments by the BJP.
Sharma expressed grave concern over cumbersome procedure and documentation and lot of delay in the process of disbursement of already sanctioned amount as a result a large number of eligible families have not been able to fulfill the conditions for getting relief.
