JAMMU, Nov 24: Ex-Central Paramilitary Forces Welfare Association, RS Pura (Jammu) has alleged discrimination against them and demanded that it should be stopped immediately.
In a meeting of the Association held at RS Pura today, under the leadership of general secretary DK Chouhan, the members of the Association raised and discussed several points with respect to their welfare and their families.
Speaking on the occasion, Chouhan demanded grant of benefits and concession to them which are being extended to Armed Force. He said MHA, on the pattern of Armed Forces under MOD, should also extend benefits to them as PMFs are also fighting enemy and sacrificing with the same vigour, valour and patriotism. They suffer and face the consequences like Defence Force but the benefits and concessions have not been extended to them like that of Armed Force working under MHA which is against the law and the ethics of natural justice.
Adding further he said that the service conditions of Para Military Forces are strong set of Acts with the provision to award punishment up to the Court Marital similar to Defence Force but unfortunately their pay and perks and post-retirement benefits including pension are governed by CCS( Pension rule 1972) provided the benefits only equal to Central Govt civilian employees and even members, widows and dependents of the Para Military Forces who are deprived in front of their fellow citizens and family members while they are exposed to risk pattern as defence forces.
He said during the recruitment drive on Nov 12, 2019 at BSF Camp Ploura and Samba, the retiree of the BSF who were accompanying with their wards during the recruitment drive were misbehaved on the pretext that there is no quota for personnel who have retired from services of Para Military Forces, he alleged.
Chouhan further demanded that Pension Scheme should be implemented to in respect of Para Military Forces personnel who have been appointed after 2004 on the same lines which have been adopted for the Armed Forces.
Office bearers Janak Raj, , Gurbachan Singh, Noor Mohd, Gurdyal Singh, Harbans Lal Sharma and others were also present.
