550th Parkash Purab of Guru Nanak celebrated

JAMMU, Nov 24: In connection with the 550th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, an impressive function was organized at Gurdwara, Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Nanak Nagar with full enthusiasm and zeal here today.
On this occasion `Kirtan- Darbar’ was held in newly constructed building, which was also inaugurated today. Bhai Gurdev Singh and Bhai Sukhwant singh Hazoori Ragi Darbar Sahib Amritsar, enthralled the devotees by reciting Gurvani Path from Sri Guru Granth Sahib.
Eminent preacher, Dr Japal Vir Singh from Jalandhar threw light on the life and teachings of Guru Nanak dev Ji. Devotees thronged Gurdwara since early morning today to offer special prayers and participate in the function. Langar was also served to the devotees.
Senior DGPC Jammu member, Harjinder Singh Raina, Jagpal Singh (P), Somnath Singh (VP), Gurmeet Singh and Harbhajan Singh also addressed the gathering.
Meanwhile, Parkash Purab of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism, was also celebrated with great religious fervour at Mendhar in district Poonch today.
The function in connection was organised at Gurdwara Singh Sabha Mendhar. The people also took out Nagar Kirtan in the town.
The speakers threw light on the life and teachings of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, who gave the message of love, brotherhood, peace and equality of human beings. The people from the various adjoining villages joined the Nagar Kirtan and chanted the slogans in praise of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
