JAMMU, Oct 29: Estates employees under the banner of Coordination Committee of Estates Employees Associations held one day token strike, pertaining to their demands.
Amid slogans Estates employees assembled in front of the office of the Deputy Director Estates and criticized the entire administration of the Estates Department for adopting delaying tactics while considering agreed demands of the employees.
The employees were demanding re-organization of the Estates Department, regularization of the daily wagers/ daily rated workers, provision of two and a half day additional pay, amendment in service rules, holding of DPC, construction of buildings for housing of the office of the Deputy Director Estates, Jammu and construction of staff quarter, release of time bound promotion immediately, appointment of next kith and kin of the deceased employees under SRO 43, besides other demands.
Addressing the employees, Prem Singh Bawa and Yash Paul Sharma warned the administration of Estates Department to consider their demands without any further delay, otherwise they will extend their strike by next two days.
They appealed to the Chief Minister to intervene in the matter and direct the authorities to implement the demands within above time period.
Among others present were Puran Chand, Tilak Raj, Rach Pal Lal, Rajinder Singh, Mohinder Paul, Rattan Paul, Rajesh Sharma, Subash Chander, Shamboo Singh, Ravi Sharma, Jeet Raj, etc.
