UDHAMPUR, Oct 29: The Annual Action Plan of Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK), Udhampur, amounting Rs. 5.14 lakh was approved for the current financial year by the District Development Commissioner Udhampur, P.K Pole at a meeting of officers held here today.
Among others, Project Officer DRDA, Susheel Kumar, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, S. D Kotwal, District Coordinator NYK, Sajjad Hussian, representatives of Women College and Sports Authority of India were present in the meeting.
The plan would include provision of sports material for youth clubs, holding of block level cultural programmes, celebration of important national/ international days, work camps, holding of district youth conventions, district youth awards, district folk cultural festivals and youth club exchange programmes.
Addressing the meeting, the DDC said that services of youth clubs be collaborated in the implementation of various schemes including National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), Rural Sanitation, Mid Day Meal etc, for getting optimum results on the ground.
Other main issues which were discussed during the meeting included grant in aid to youth clubs, Mahila Mandals, financial assistance to youth clubs, youth awards, identification of land for construction of office building of NYK, registration of Youth Clubs.
