Eminent theatre director Anuradha Kapur features at Natrang’s Talk Show

JAMMU, Oct 11: Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee, eminent theatre director/teacher, Anuradha Kapur today featured at Natrang’s International Theatre Talk Show live on its Facebook Page.
In an elating interaction with Aarushi Thakur Rana, she shared her distinctive vision of theatre with the global audience.
Director Natrang, Padmashri Balwant Thakur expressed his gratitude towards all the prominent theatre practitioners who made this exceptional endeavour of Natrang a highly enriching experience for theatre enthusiasts and art lovers.
Introducing Anuradha Kapur, Natrang artist Sonalika Jamwal informed that Anuradha Kapur qualified Masters and PhD in Drama and Theatre Arts at the University of Leeds, U.K.
She joined the faculty of National School of Drama, Delhi, in 1981, where she is now Professor of Acting and Direction.
Alongside teaching theatre and drama, Anuradha Kapur has been directing plays since 1980s. Her recent work includes The Antigone Project (2003) and Pata: Shahar Mumbai (2004), a version of two texts by Vijay Tendulkar.
In a highly significant session, Kapur narrated her meaningful journey in the field of theatre, she also expressed her vision and idea about theatre in a very comprehensive manner.
Theatre for her is at its heart a dialogue, to be able to listen, to be able to change by listening has its own relevance and moreover it is a beautiful social situation. It is a form that is fully embedded in social situations.
