Emergency landing strip in Bijbehara to be completed in 15 months: DC

ANANTNAG, Dec 1: Deputy Commissioner Anantnag Dr Piyush Singla today inspected emergency landing strip at Bijbehara.
Many local delegations put forth their grievances mainly regarding completion of the Mini Secratariat at Bijbehara, associated parking facility, completion of IPD block at Trauma Hospital Bijbehara among others. The Deputy Commissioner gave a patient hearing to the grievances. He asssured the locals that the Mini Secretariat will be functional by the end of this month. He further said that the district administration will identify a patch of land that can be utilized as a parking area.
Inspecting various sections of the under construction Trauma Hospital, the DC passed directions to officials to expedite the construction process from PHC. He was informed that the new block will be completed in the coming months.
Dr Singla, prior to this, visited the Emergency Landing strip at Bijbehara. He was informed that the landing strip, 3.5 kms long, shall be completed in the next 15 days. More than 90% of the work on the strip has been completed.
The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by officials from civil administration and the implementing agency.
