‘Emergency cases should be attended in hospitals’

BUDGAM, Apr 6: J&K RTI Foundation has expressed concern over the alleged non-availability of medical consultation facilities for emergency patients at Sub-District Hospitals at various places in J&K.
In a handout J&K RTI Foundation Chairman, Engineer Irfan said they have been regularly monitoring the problems being faced by the people during COVID-19 pandemic.
He said, though people must restrain from visiting the hospitals for minor issues in present scenario yet the emergency situations cannot be ignored.
Irfan claimed that gynaecology patients are suffering and they have to travel long for consultation at District Level Hospital.
He quoted Block Medical Officer SDH Magam and CMO Budgam to say that people have to bear this as SDH Magam has been converted into a quarantine center.
Karar Reshi, District Coordinator of Foundation said DIET Beerwah can be converted into a quarantine center till COVID-19 crisis lasts.
He also said that it is very difficult to travel long distance during the lockdown in case of emergency situations.
