NEW DELHI, Mar 3: Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh said here today that the election results from the three States of Tripura, Nagaland and Meghalaya have vindicated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Northeast thrust of development and equitable growth of every section of society.
In a series of interviews to news agencies and media channels at BJP Headquarters after the declaration of  election results, Dr Jitendra Singh said, this is a huge vindication and gratification of the focus on development in the region over the last three years, which was possible because of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s personal indulgence and unquestioned patronage.
It was an optimum combination of PM Modi’s focus on “Vikas, Vikas, Vikas”, coupled with restructured organizational focus of Party President Amit Shah on intermingling with the common masses and identifying with them, he said.
Dr Jitendra Singh said, the electoral outcomes gave him a special sense of satisfaction, also because he had been assigned  to work for the development of Northeast.
It is difficult to imagine, said Dr Jitendra Singh, how much of effort and consistent hardwork had been put in over the last three years to achieve this miraculous change of scenario in the North Eastern region. Giving example of the three States, where results were declared today, he said, till 2014 people of Meghalaya had never seen a train, but today, there is a double-gauge railway line network being set-up. Similarly, he said, Tripura is going to get the first-ever train to Bangladesh and the rail track from Agartala to the Bangladesh border is being funded by the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER).
Dr Jitendra Singh said, the Modi Government has not only brought in a new era of development in the region, but it has owned up the people of the eight States so intimately that there is no longer the earlier demarcation of socalled hinterland and socalled main land. Narendra Modi was the first Prime Minister after 40 years, he said, who went to attend the Plenary Meeting of North Eastern Council (NEC) at Shillong, while Amit Shah began his tenure as BJP National President with an extensive tour of the region spending atleast two full days in each of the eight States.
At the political level, Dr Jitendra Singh described today’s results as an end of the politics of appeasement, end of politics of exploitation and end of the politics of winning elections by creating false and negative illusions about BJP.
