RAMBAN, Nov 23: A drunken driver of Road Transport Corporation (RTC) bus has been arrested for endangering human lives.
As per police sources, an information was received that RTC bus bearing registration number JK02Y-0757 on way from Banihal to Jammu was driven rashly and negligently by drunken driver identified as Darshan Singh, son of Deva Singh, a resident of Majalta District Udhampur without caring safety of passengers.
Acting over the information, a team from Banihal Police Station immediately swung into action and arrested the driver after medical examination.
A case under FIR Number 115/2020 under Section 279 and 336 IPC and under relevant Sections of Motor Vehicle Acts has been registered against erring driver at Banihal Police Station and investigation started.
However, fourty-six passengers along with 15 children were later sent to Jammu through another RTC bus.
