Drug peddler escapes from Rajbagh PS

JAMMU, Oct 2: A drug peddler who was arrested few days earlier escaped from the custody of Rajbagh Police Station this morning.
He was arrested on September 28 by a police team of PS Rajbagh during patrolling/checking duty in its jurisdictional area near Bamberwan road Rajbagh. He was identified as Murad Ali, son of Teg Ali of Jakhbar Bigwan tehsil and district Kathua.
During checking approximately 90 grams of Heroin like narcotics along with cash amount of Rs. 1,49000/- was also recovered from his possession. A case vide FIR No.194 /2022 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Rajbagh against him.
As per reports he was taken out for natural call from lockup to Police Station premises. He fled away after dodging the police team on duty. A police team put on job to arrest the absconding drug peddler. The Rajbagh Police is tightlipped over the unfortunate incident.
The locals said that the absconding drug peddler has larger complaints of supplying narcotics. He has links with Punjab drug dealers and selling the banned drugs in Kathua district.
