6 drug peddlers arrested with heroin, poppy straw, ganja

JAMMU, Oct 2: Chowk Chabutra, Jhajjar Kotli, Gandhi Nagar and Satwari Police arrested six drug peddlers along with heroin, poppy straw and ganja.
As per police sources, on specific information a team from Police Post Chowk Chabutra led by PSI Jyoti Choudhary under the supervision of SHO Pacca Danga Inspector Rakesh Sharma and SDPO City Sharad Kalu laid a naka and intercepted a person, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered 40 grams of heroin from the possession of the person and arrested him.
The arrested person was identified as Chetan Sharma, son of Shiv Darshan Lal of Rehari Colony District Jammu.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Jhajjar Kotli led by SHO Inspector Samson Bhatti under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Pardeep Kumar laid a naka and intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number PB05AB-5858.
During search, police team recovered 37.430 kilograms of poppy straw from the vehicle and arrested two persons, who were identified as Baldev Singh, son of Surjan Singh and Sukhdev Singh, son of Puran Singh, both residents of Punjab.
In another similar case, a team from Police Station Gandhi Nagar led by SHO Inspector Pankaj Sharma under the supervision of SDPO East Sachit Sharma arrested a drug peddler and recovered 8 grams heroin from his possession.
The accused was identified as Gurdit Singh alias Prince alias Pindi, son of Bhopinder Singh of Model Town Gangyal District Jammu.
In one more similar case, a team from Police Station Satwari led by SHO Inspector Sameer Jiilani and assisted by PSI Saddam Hussain while on naka duty apprehended two drug peddlers along with 6 kilograms of ganja.
The arrested persons were identified as Hare Rai, son of Ram Parvesh Rai and Sanjay Rai, son of Lakhanu Rai, both residents of Nayatola Patna Bihar.
Cases under relevant sections have been registered at Police Stations Pacca Danga, Jhajjar Kotli, Gandhi Nagar and Satwari and investigation started.
