Driver, associate arrested with poppy straw

RAMBAN, Sept 8: Banihal police arrested a driver and his associate along with 30 kilograms of poppy straw.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Banihal Police Station laid a naka near Tether and intercepted a truck bearing registration number HR38K-0631.
During checking, police recovered 30 kilograms of poppy straw from the vehicle and arrested the driver along with his associate.
The arrested persons have been identified as Sonu Singh, son of Nirmal Singh and
Gurinder Singh, son of Kala Singh, both residents of Nawan Pind Kapurthala, Punjab.
A case under FIR Number 151/18 under Section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Banihal and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment.
Police team led by SHO Banihal Inspector Aijaz Ahmad and assisted by Incharge Jawahar Tunnel Police Post SI Shamim Ahmad made the arrest under the supervision of Sajjad Sarwar SDPO Banihal, Sanjay Parihar Additional SP Ramban and Anita Sharma SSP Ramban.
