JAMMU, Sept 9: To eradicate the menace of tobacco, the CBSE conducted various competitions at National Level for the students under the theme- Poster Making, Essay Writing, Nukkad Natak and Jingles, here today.
Various schools from across the country participated in the event. The students of DPS enthusiastically participated in the competition and applied their knowledge, observations and creativity to excel.
Master Rajarshi and Master Siddharth who put up their thoughts in Essay Writing Competition depicting the negative impact of tobacco use, clinched 1st and 2nd positions respectively. 10 students of classes VIII, IX and X presented an eye opening enactment – Nukkad Natak- ‘Tobacco Chhodo’ directed by Anil Sharma was acclaimed as the best entry in the competition.
Jingle song on the message to ‘Quit Tobacco’ also got winning position. The lyrics were written by Jai Paul Gill, Senior Music Teacher.
Ruchi Chabra, Principal DPS Jammu and Meenu Gupta, Headmistress DPS Jammu lauded the efforts of the students and the teachers for their good work.
