JAMMU, June 12: Jammu Kashmir, BJP spokesperson, Balbir Ram Rattan, while addressing media persons at Nagbani in Jammu Rural district, today said that 70 per cent among the West Pakistan refugees are from SC community and the provision of Domicile Certificate for them will entitle them to claim all rights and benefits as respectable citizens of the country. It will also benefit a large population of OBCs as well as 5300 PoJK displaced families living outside J&K.
Addressing a press conference along with district president, Rajinder Singh Chib, district general secretaries Kasturi Lal Sharma and Sham Lal Sharma, he said many other issues pending for decades together were settled during the first year of Modi’s second term. The Sikh community across the country had been demanding access to Kartarpur since 1956 but the Congress Governments did not pay any heed. Narendra Modi Government has got it done and the devotees can now visit religious and historic Kartarpur Sahib in Pakistan, where first Guru of Sikhs, Guru Nanak Dev Ji, spent the last 12 years of his life.
Balbir said that the Muslim women had been living miserable lives under the fear of Triple Talaq, which too has been abolished for their welfare. This Government has resolved the long pending issue of Ram Mandir and cleared the obstacles in its construction, he added.
Minimum Support Price for 23 crops at 30 -50 per cent has been enhanced during this period.
These achievements are hallmark of first year of second term of Government at the centre showing clearly that PM is taking care of all faiths and sections of the society, thus proving ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikaas’ is the basic mantra of governance.
During the ongoing Corona crisis, India has achieved the distinction to be at top position in cases of testing and recoveries, only because of the efforts of the Modi Government.
Balbir said that during the first tenure, the Government under Narendra Modi had launched a record number of welfare schemes for poor, Dalits, women, youth, farmers, border people, senior citizens, ex servicemen etc.
Similarly a number of prestigious educational and professional institutions for Jammu and Kashmir, particularly Jammu, like IIT, IIM, AIIMS, Medical Colleges, and Cluster University were sanctioned and many of them became functional.
Besides, mega projects of power generation, widening of roads, expansion of Airport, modernization of Jammu Railway Station and extension of rail link etc were taken up in previous tenure.
