Dogri Sanstha celebrates ‘Dogri Maanata Din’

JAMMU, Dec 21: Dogri Sanstha, Jammu, today celebrated Dogri Maanata Din, a day on which Dogri language was included in the 8th Schedule of Indian Constitution, by holding a Dogri Mushaira and distributing sweets.
Prominent Dogri poets, besides a selected gathering of audience, participated in the mushaira which was held in a festival like environment. The poets who read their poems include Pradyuman Singh Jindrahia, Gianeshwar, Nirmal Vinod, Susheel Begaana, Sunil Sharma, Randhir Singh Raipuria, Brij Mohan, Ratan Doshi, Bansi Lal, Kuldeep Kippi, Sudarshan Ratanpuri, Ramesh Rahi and others.
Prof Lalit Magotra, president of Dogri Sanstha, while congratulating all present on this auspicious day, spoke about the responsibilities, which inclusion of Dogri in 8th Schedule entails on the Dogri writers in particular and Dogri speaking populace in general.
The programme was held at the new upcoming building of Sanstha and was conducted by Prof Veena Gupta, the general secretary of Sanstha.
