Bhalla asks teachers to impart moral education to students

JAMMU, Dec 21: Minister for Housing, Horticulture and Culture  Raman Bhalla said that teachers have an imperative role in nurturing and shaping the personalities of the students to make them valuable asset for the nation. The Minister was speaking at the annual day function of St. Paul’s Convent High School, Gangyal, here today
He said that education is vital for empowering the society and asked the students to put in hard toil to excel in the field of academics and other co-curricular activities.
Mr. Bhalla asked the teaching fraternity to impart quality as well as moral education to the students. He said teachers are the  architects who shape the personality of students by giving them quality education and imbue in them  the right ethos. He said that child spends more time in school than at home and teachers can magnify their duties by providing them the requisite counselling for excelling in various field to create a niche for themselves
The Minister appealed the parents to ensure that their children get educated and asked them to provide them  apt guidance and values for their bright future .
Earlier, the students of the school presented a colourful cultural programme which was highly applauded the audience.
The programme began with the thematic presentation by class IX that highlighted various important issues and social evils .They also presented programmes highlighting the importance of peace and unity ..
Minister also celebrated Christmas with the students and a play on the life of Christ was presented and Christmas carols were sung on the occasion
Later, Bhalla also distributed mementos among the meritorious students who excelled in academics.
