DM takes note of absenteeism at SDH Kupwara, orders inquiry

Srinagar, Jan 23: After the doctors and paramedics were found absent from their duties at SDH Kupwara, the district administration has ordered an inquiry into the matter while also pulling up the District Health Officers.
The order for an inquiry has been issued after the Deputy Commissioner Kupwara carried out a surprise visit to SDH Kupwara to take stock of facilities provided to the patients and found doctors and paramedics absent from their duties.
“Some of the Doctors were found absent from duties as per the duty roaster of doctors for which the District Development Commissioner Kupwara has taken a serious view and desired that action as per norms shall be initiated against the erring doctors and paramedical staff,” the order reads.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner Kupwara in this regard has been asked to initiate the enquiry and submit a detailed report with recommendations.
The BMO Kupwara has also been asked to submit a detailed explanation about the functioning of SDH Kupwara and absence of doctors and paramedical staff from the hospital.
”Disciplinary action as warranted under rules shall be initiated against the BMO Kupwara for not discharging his legitimate duties in the premier Hospital of the District,” the order reads.
The DM has also asked the BMO Kupwara to put in in place a duty roster for the staff on a weekly basis and submit the same to District Administration.
Also, the CMO Kupwara has been directed to regularly monitor the presence of doctors and paramedical staff at the SDH Kupwara and also submit work done statement of SDH Kupwara and other Health Institution on regular basis.
