PULWAMA, Jan 6: The District Magistrate, Pulwama today placed Food Safety Officer, Inderjit Singh under suspension over dereliction of duties and unauthorised absence from headquarters.
In view of inclement weather and to ensure prompt disaster mitigation measures the district administration had already issued orders under Section 34 of Disaster Management Act directing all officers to remain present in their respective jurisdictions.
The FSO was found absconding from the district and has been accordingly placed under suspension and attached with Additional Deputy Commissioner’s office.
Meanwhile the District Magistrate has instructed all Magistrates of the district to immediately seal any such office dealing with essential services which is found non functional and staff found absconding during this period of harsh weather.
