JAMMU, July 18 : Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Pradeep Gupta on Wednesday reviewed the status and pace of work on developmental projects taken up on the recommendation of Special Task Force (STF) for Jammu division at a high level meeting.
The meeting was informed that an amount of Rs 155 crore was released for the projects taken up across the division, of which Rs. 110 crore have been spent till May, 2012.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioners of Jammu division, Chief Engineer, UEED, Director Urban Local Bodies, Director Tourism, Director Agriculture, Vice- Chairperson, Jammu Development Authority (JDA), General Manager, Jammu and Kashmir Project Construction Corporation (JKPCC) and senior officers of other departments
The Divisional commissioner took sector wise review of the projects taken up under PHE, Housing and Urban Development, R&B, Revenue, Tourism, Agriculture and other allied sectors.
The Divisional Commissioner exhorted upon the concerned departments to ensure timely completion of projects for the benefit of the people. He stressed on optimal use of funds and directed the Deputy Commissioners to regularly furnish the progress report of each project in their respective districts. He also asked the concerned officers to remove the bottlenecks hampering the project implementation.
Later, the Divisional Commissioner reviewed the process of land acquisition for road projects being taken up in various parts of the region.

Mr. Gupta also reviewed the land acquisition cases of projects taken by National Highway Authority of India (NHIA), Border Road Organisation (BRO), Prime Minister Grameen Sadak Yojana (PMGSY).
stressed for close coordination among the executing agencies and line departments for timely execution of projects.
The meeting, among others, was attended by DIG, BSF, N.S. Jamwal and senior officers from BSF, BRO, NHAI, BRO and Army.
