Govt notifies more services under ambit of PSGA

SRINAGAR, July 18: To mitigate the problems being faced by the common people in accessing basic public services, the State Government has brought seven more services within the purview of the Public Services Guarantee Act, 2011. The new services have been notified vide SRO-229 of 16th July 2012.
The new services include obtaining No Demand Certificate (NDC) from District Industries Centres for employment purpose, registration of new industrial units (Provisional/EM Part-I) and registration of new Industrial Units (Formal/EM-Part-II) from Industries and Commerce Department. Issuances of No Objection Certificate (NOC) for employment, registration of unemployed youth by the Labour and Employment Department. Similarly obtaining copy of the voter list and marriage certificate under Hindu Marriage Act from Revenue Department have also been notified as new services.
The State Government has already notified 45 services of the six departments for delivering basic Public Services to the eligible persons under the Act which also include services like issuance of State Subject Certificates, Reserved Category Certificates, various Revenue extracts, Ration Cards, Water & Power connections, Driving Licenses, Birth/Death certificates and various no-objection certificates (NOCs) from local bodies etc.
To carry out the implementation of the provisions of Public Services Guarantee Act (PSGA) -2011, the State Government has notified the rules vide SRO 223 of 2011. Further Vide SRO 224 of 2011, the Government has notified the services to be delivered to the eligible persons under the Act, time limit for providing the notified services, particulars of designated officers, first appellate authorities and second appellate authorities.
