LEH, Mar 27: Divisional Commissioner Ladakh Saugat Biswas chaired a meeting with all Head of the Departments of Leh district to review the progress of ongoing works, welfare schemes and achievements of each department, here.
While taking an overview of the functioning of each department, Div Com made a special emphasis on work progress of departments including Education, Health, Agriculture, Horticulture, Handicrafts and PWD. He urged upon the HoDs to have thorough knowledge of the schemes implemented by their department and office functions. He directed them to adopt a strict follow up mechanism to ensure timely completion of all projects and schemes.
Addressing the meeting, Div Com stressed upon the district officers to have focused ideas and serious intentions to ensure effective service delivery for public welfare. He sought detail information from each district officer about the respective department’s roles, priorities and functions, ongoing activities and progress of different State and Centre government run public welfare schemes. He directed the officers to prepare a short video or slide presentation on the major departmental achievements and stressed on professionalism to ensure an efficient work culture in government offices.
Deputy Commissioner/Chief Executive Officer, LAHDC, Leh Avny Lavasa gave a detailed presentation on the present state of Languishing Projects, Ayushman Bharat and PM-KISAN.
Div Com Biswas took stock of present status of each project and directed the officers to ensure timely completion considering the limited working days and tough geographic location of the region. He strongly stressed upon the officers to ensure effective and timely tendering process assuring strict monitoring and follow up with concern authorities. He further instructed the officers to ensure transparency and credibility in providing timely benefits to the actual beneficiaries at grassroot level through Central and State run public welfare schemes.
Additional District Development Commissioner, Leh Moses Kunzang, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Leh Sachin Kumar and all HoDs attended the meeting.
