Div Com reviews developmental scenario at Katra

KATRA, June 6: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma today visited holy town of Katra and took review of various developmental works being executed at Spiritual Growth Centre.
While reviewing the drinking water supply in the Katra town, the Div Com directed for speedy completion of various on-going PHE schemes.
He stressed on rejuvenating the holy Ban Ganga stream and directed for strict measures to completely check the pollution in the stream. He also directed authorities to identify suitable land for setting up of parks in and around the town for the locals as well as tourists.
The Divisional Commissioner also took stock of roads and bridges being constructed under centrally sponsored funds, two sewage treatment plants and directed for their speedy completion. He also sought detailed information about drainage projects, power supply and health facilities in the area and sought views and inputs from the officers for further beautification of the famous holy destination.
The meeting was attended by District Development Commissioner Reasi, Indu Kanwal Chib; ADDC Ramesh Chander, ACD Sunil Sharma; SDM Katra, Ashok Kumar, representatives from Katra MC and various district officers.
