KISHTWAR, Feb 1: On the second day of two day tour to district Kishtwar, Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr Raghav Langer and Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Mukesh Singh today visited the snow bound Warwan Valley and took firsthand appraisal of the basic amenities available to the people of the area amid the harsh winter season. The visiting officers also listened and redressed the grievances of the local people.
Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar Ashok Sharma, Senior Superintendent of Police, Shafkat Hussain Bhat, besides other senior officers also accompanied them during the visit.
The Divisional Commissioner reviewed the stock and supply position of ration, medicines, LPG and other daily essentials in the area, besides the basic amenities available for the Public.
Later, the Div Com, along with ADGP, interacted with the PRI members and the local and listened to their grievances and demands.
The locals demanded tunnel connectivity from Matti Gowran to Warwan, enhancement of ration quota per family, timely payment of MGNREGA wages, chopper facility to the valley throughout the year, strengthening of health infrastructure and patient care, up-gradation of Educational Infrastructure and expansion of road connectivity, besides posting of full fledged BDO.
After patient hearing, the Div Com assured that their genuine demands will be conceded in a time bound manner as the divisional level administration has reached at their doorstep to mitigate their sufferings.
The visiting officers issued on the spot directions to concerned officers for immediate redress of the issues of urgent need.
Interacting with the locals, the Div Com stressed on the officers stationed in the valley to put in extra efforts to improve services delivery as per needs of the people.
Besides he asked the PRIs to extend full support and cooperation to the administration to facilitate smooth execution of developmental works in this far flung area. The Div Com assured the public of Inshan that Lieutenant Governor’s administration is fully committed and sensitised towards public grievance redressal of remotest areas of the UT.
