DIT University organizes career counseling session

JAMMU, May 18: Pervin Malhotra and Zubin Malhotra, national level star counsellors, visited DIT University on a mission to educate maximum students who are not fully aware of the career choices that they need to make.
Over 640 students from various schools / Coaching institutions like Doon International School, Doon Defence Academy, Gautam International School, Times World School, Asian School and many more flocked to the university. About 20 plus Principals and counsellors from various other regions were also present to attend the session.
The session started with the traditional lamp lighting and university anthem. After paying tributes, Dr K K Raina, Vice Chancellor, DIT University, took on the main stage and motivated all the students by sharing his experience of how times have changed for education and how one should prepare for today’s challenges.
Pervin Malhotra and Zubin Malhotra took in the stage and spoke about ones mental and physical strength and the time one needs to give to have a successful career. They spoke about how students often confuse about various streams that are deemed to be in demand vis a vis streams that they would excel (core strength) in as a career option.
The sessions lasted for more than three hours with almost 40-50 students and parents having questions about the right career choice, the right university to choose, the interest levels of aspirants for new tech programs etc.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr K K Raina, Vice Chancellor, DIT University, and more Q & A. The students and parents interacted with all the Deans, Directors and faculties of various programs at DIT University and also took a campus tour to have a look at the infrastructure and student life that the university provides.
DIT University, formerly known as Dehradun Institute of Technology, was founded in 1998 as a premier institution of higher learning. The campus is lush green, environment friendly and surrounded by Mussoorie hill range.
