SRINAGAR, May 21: Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh inaugurated Ahmadnagar (Pati Anchar) Police Post in the territorial jurisdiction of Police Station Soura, Hazratbal Srinagar and reviewed crime records within the jurisdiction of the police post.
DGP was accompanied by IGP Kashmir Zone Vijay Kumar, DIG CKR Mohammad Suleman Choudhary, DIG SSB Ranjeet Singh and SSP Srinagar Dr Haseeb Mughul. SP Hazratbal S Sudanshu Pandey, SP Headquarters Srinagar, ASP Zadibal and SHO Soura were also present on the occasion.
Soon after the inauguration of the premises the DGP inspected the building infrastructure. He interacted with the officers and jawans of the Police Post. He also took stock of the functioning of Police Post and checked crime records within the jurisdiction of the Police Post.
On the occasion the DGP emphasized the importance of the establishing the Ahmadnagar Police Post and addressing the long pending demand of the people of the area. The aim of establishing the Police Post is to provide speedy redressal of the public grievances/complaints and prompt police action in case of any untoward incident or any kind of emergency, he said.
Quick response to the problems of the people strengthens our relations and it is the responsibility of supervisory officers to review these relations from time to time and ensure that the grievances of the people are addressed genuinely, DGP said.
While interacting with the jawans and officers working in the Police Post, the DGP enquired from them about the facilities available to them. He said that fight against crime is our prime duty and all available sources should be utilised to curb the activities of the criminals. He said that crime against women and drug abuse should be dealt with firm hands.
SP Hazratbal S Sudhanshu Pandey along with the Incharge Police Post briefed the DGP regarding the working of the Police Post. He gave details of the important crime cases and deployments in the areas under the jurisdiction of the Police Post.
Later, the DGP along with IGP Kashmir and other officers visited the yesterday’s attack site in which two BSF personnel were martyred in an cowardice attack by the terrorists at Pandach.
