Delegation of Labana Sabha meets Azad

JAMMU, Aug 2: A delegation of All J&K Labana Sabha today met former Chief Minister of erstwhile State of Jammu and Kashmir and senior Congress leader, Gulam Nabi Azad at his residence and apprised him about various problems being faced by people of the community, here.
The Sabha delegation met with the senior Congress leader under the leadership of Lakhbir Singh Sohal and discussed various issues of the community. It was brought to the notice of the Congress leader that against the Mandal Commission’s 27 percent reservation to OBC, only four percent reservation is being given to OBC community in J&K till date.
Lakhbir Singh raised the issue of political reservation for Labana community and urged him that at least two seats of both the Provinces of Jammu and Kashmir should be reserved for Sikhs and Labana community. The Congress leader listened their grievances patiently and assured them that he will take up the matter with concerned Authority in Delhi for implementation of Mandal Commission report in the J&K.
