KISHTWAR, Mar 1: Continuing the work of inspection of developmental works, District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kishtwar, Rajinder Singh Tara, today conducted an extensive tour of the Kishtwar town and took stock of the developmental works there. On the occasion, he also reviewed the status of public infrastructure raised in the town.
He was accompanied by Additional District Development Commissioner ADDC, Kishtwar, Mohd Hanief Malik; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, ACR, Dr. Amir Hussain; Executive Officer EO Municipality Tariq Ahmad Balwan; Tehsildar Kishtwar Pramod Kumar; Food Safety Officer Kishtwar Rajni Kumari; XENs, AEEs of PWD, R&B, PDD, PHE and other officials.
He inspected drainage system in the town, sanitary facilities being installed at various places in the market, use of designated parking places along the roadsides, black topping of the roads etc.
During his inspection, he directed the authorities to expedite all the developmental works in the town. He directed the Tehsildar Kishtwar to take immediate steps to decongest the roads by removing the roadside encroachments within a week’s time. He further directed the Executive Engineer, R&B for laying cementing slab over the drains alongside the roads to prevent occurrence of any mishap
He asked the Municipal officials to clear the roads of town from the garbage and install bins wherever required. DDC also stressed upon organizing cleanliness drives to make the town a clean and hygienic place for its inhabitants.
He also directed for orderly arrangement of electric wires in the town to prevent happening of any mishap. The Food & Safety Officer was also instructed to conduct regular market inspections and taking of samples of food items to ensure the safety of people.
Later, he visited the new bus stand and underscored the need for its beautification and expansion. He said that it is the first contact point with this town for outsiders and hence needs proper upkeep.
