KATHUA, July 11: District Development Council (DDC), Chairman Kathua, Col (retd) Mahan Singh today visited Batada and Pathiyara villages in Basohli Sub Division and took stock of the problems faced by the people in these remote and far flung areas.
A large number of people had gathered to meet the DDC Chairman and highlight their grievances. They narrated to him their woes related to power and water supply besides road connectivity problems in the area. While interacting with them Col Mahan Singh said that he would take up their issues with the concerned authorities for getting these addressed on top priority.
While addressing the residents of the village present on the occasion, the DDC Chairman said that Prime Minister, Narendra Modi led Government at the Centre stands fully committed to provide tap water connectivity to every household by 2022. Not only this, the BJP Government is committed to provide all the basic amenities to the people, especially to those living in the remote areas of the nation, he added.
He said that the Bharatiya Janata Party Government has extended full support to the States and Union Territories for the overall development of all the remote areas across the nation. This is all the more appreciable keeping in view that despite the whole men and machinery of the Government in this hour of crisis on account of pandemic focusing on strengthening the healthcare structure under the stewardship of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, the developmental projects continue unabated across the length and breadth of the nation. He said that people must also play their due role by active participation in the development of these areas for which he urged the Panchs and Sarpanchs to play a proactive role in the evolving vibrant grassroots democratic system.
The DDC Chairman assured the people of Batada and Pathiyara villages that all their genuine issues, especially those related to power and road connectivity would be resolved at the earliest.
