The drills were carried out over the past week at Mata Kheer Bhawani Temple, Wussan Pandit Colony, Manigam Pandit Colony, Wandhama Pandit Colony and Sonamarg, officials said.
Personnel from the District Police, Special Operations Group (SOG), Army, CRPF, BSF, SSB, SDRF, Health Department, Fire and Emergency Services, and other agencies participated in the exercises.
Officials said a dedicated mock drill was held at the Mata Kheer Bhawani Temple to assess preparedness for the annual mela.
The exercise focused on reviewing security arrangements, crowd-control measures, evacuation procedures and emergency response systems ahead of the event.
During the exercises, various emergency scenarios were simulated to evaluate the readiness of security forces and the effectiveness of response mechanisms.
The drills also tested coordination among multiple agencies responsible for security, disaster response and public safety during the pilgrimage and religious festival.
Police said the exercises were aimed at identifying and addressing any operational gaps before the commencement of the two major events, both of which witness the arrival of large numbers of devotees and visitors.
