RAJOURI, Mar 23: Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal visited Government Medical College (Nagrota) to assess its progress and functioning. During his visit, he reviewed the power and water infrastructure and hostel accommodation on the premises. The DC interacted with students and motivated them to work hard and accomplish their academic goals with dedication and perseverance.
Later, the DC chaired a meeting of concerned officers to review the progress on the construction of dedicated power lines, installation of water supply pipelines and allied infrastructure, and the present status of hostel accommodation. The academic and other blocks were fully functional, with classes being held in the building itself.
The DC reviewed the progress on the GMC receiving station and directed officers from the Power Development Department to have it ready by April 2023. The Executive Engineer Jal Shakti apprised that land for the water supply scheme was yet to be identified. The DC directed the concerned revenue officer to identify land for the water supply scheme at the earliest.
The Groundwater and Drilling Division Jammu were asked to install a borewell in the GMC premises in the first week of April 2023. The DC also directed concerned officers to take immediate measures for repairs and renovation of the damaged boundary wall of the GMC building.
The DC took note of cleanliness and sanitation in and around the institution and issued a directive to maintain proper cleanliness and sanitation standards around the premises.
