LEH, Oct 31: Deputy Commissioner-cum-Chairman Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) Simrandeep Singh today inaugurated the boundary wall and a dispensary in the Vidyalaya premises.
The infrastructure has been constructed at a cost of Rs 26.50 lakh under CSR of NHPC. The function was attended by the SSP Leh, Dr Sunil Gupta, Chief Engineer NHPC, S K Sandhu, Principals of JNV Leh, KV Leh, Degree College Leh and parents and staff of JNV.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC thanked the Chief Engineer NHPC for coming forward and supporting the cause of JNV as both the boundary wall and the dispensary were pressing needs of the JNV. The boundary wall got destroyed in 2010 floods. Despite repeated requests to the JNV Sanghthan, the funds for repair could not be made available. The dispensary so far was functioning in the Principal office after the academic hours.
Finally, the Leh administration requested the NHPC to support the cause in the interest of 530 students, out of which 300 are girl students.
