DC conducts extensive tour of Nyoma Sub-Division

LEH, May 9: Deputy Commissioner, Simrandeep Singh, conducted two-day tour of the Nyoma Sub-Division and reviewed the working of the administration at Sub-Division level.
He took stock of various developmental works and interacted with the people at Chumathang and Nyoma. The people apprised him of their problems. The DC ordered inquiries into the works related to Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidayalaya and Common Purpose Hall in Nyoma.
He also took a review meeting of the sectoral officers and instructed them to remain present in the station to address the problems of the people.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner visited the remote village of Thukje in Changathang region of Nyoma and interacted with the nomadic Pashmina rearers of the region. Changathang is the world famous belt of Pashmina Goats near the Tibet-Himachal border in Ladakh.
The DC assured the Pashmina rearers to address their various demands. He also visited the Upshi Sheep farm of the State Government and took stock of various activities undertaken by them to support the Pashmina rearers.
The DC was accompanied by District Sheep Husbandary Officer, SDM Nyoma and SHO Nyoma.
