JAMMU, June 1: Dr Darakhshan Andrabi, an eminent politician, writer, intellectual and poet gets Harmony Award. The award was presented to Dr Darakhshan at Hoshiyarpur today for her exemplary contribution for propagation of communal harmony, universal brotherhood and peace in the troubled State of Jammu & Kashmir.
She was presented the Award at a brief but graceful function by the Minister of Medical Education & Research Punjab Bibi Mohinder Kour Josh in presence of Vijay Sampla Minister of State for Social Justice of Punjab.
Dr Darakhshan Andrabi has got many national awards earlier too for her social service programmes in Kashmir. Speaking on the occasion Bibi Mohinder Kour Josh said that the dedication of Darakhshan translated by her into practical initiatives for bridging the gaps between different religious, linguistic and regional divisions is praiseworthy and needs to be acknowledged.
