SRINAGAR, May 1: Central Wakf Council Member, Dr Darakhshan Andrabi has been appointed as chairperson of Education & Women Welfare Committee of the Union Ministry of Minority Affairs and Member of the Maulana Azad National Education Foundation.
According to an official order issued by the Union Ministry of Minority Affairs, Govt of India, Dr Andrabi, who is also a senior BJP leader from Kashmir has been appointed by Dr Najma Heptulla, Union Minister for Minority Affairs to this important position.
The other members of the Committee are- Ch Mehboob Ali Kaisar (MP), Dr Nizammudin Mohsin, A I Saiyeed and S Munavari Begum.
This high powered committee of the Union Ministry of Minority Affairs works for educational development and women’s welfare issues of the minorities throughout the country. Dr Andrabi has also been appointed as Member of Maulana Azad Education Foundation.
Meanwhile, Ashok Koul, BJP State secretary (org) congratulated Dr Andrabi for her appointment to these prestigious positions of national level.
Dr Andrabi extended gratitude to the Union Government and especially Minister for Minority Affairs Dr Najma Heptulla for appointing her to these important posts and said that she will serve the minority community whole heartedly with dedication and vision to improve the educational standard of the minority youth and women in particular.
