Curfew like restrictions in Pulwama

Srinagar, Feb 20: Curfew like restrictions were imposed in South town of Pulwama, today after a militant, who was a resident of the town, was killed by Army in Budgam yesterday.
Residents said that police announced imposition of curfew through loud speakers when people tried to leave for Masjids early in the morning.
Despite restrictions, violent clashes were reported from Prichoo, area of the town between the protesters and police and CRPF.
The curfew like restrictions were imposed after clashes broke out in the town after a militant Touseef Ahmad Dar, was killed by Army in Budgam yesterday.
A police spokesman said that situation in Pulwama remained normal; however stray incidents of stone pelting were reported from few places.
Police said that a notorious stone pelter, Maisar Ahmad Bhat son of Mohammad Yousuf resident of Prichoo, Pulwama was injured while attempting to thrown back a tear smoke shell lobbed by police at Prichoo.
“The shell exploded in his hand causing injuries in his fingers. He was shifted to Bone and Joints hospital, Srinagar for treatment”, police spokesman added.
