Crude oil futures down on weak Asian cues

NEW DELHI, Sept 24:  Crude oil futures prices today eased by 0.35 per cent to Rs 5,619 per barrel, as speculators trimmed positions amidst a weak trend in the Asian trade.
The trading sentiment turned weak in futures trade after oil prices fell in Asian following the return of disrupted Libyan production into an already well-stocked global market and as dealers await the latest US inventory report, analysts said.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in October shed Rs 20, or 0.35 per cent, to Rs 5,619 per barrel in 706 lots.
The oil for November delivery contracts  moved down by Rs 16, or 0.28 per cent, to Rs 5,617 per barrel in a volume of 21 lots.
Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil for November delivery was down one cent to USD 91.55 while Brent crude for November fell 32 cents  USD 96.53 a barrel, in late-morning trade on the New York Mercantile Exchange. (PTI)
