CPI (M) demands release of Tarigami, other leaders

JAMMU, Aug 18: The Jammu Regional Committee of CPI (M) has strongly criticised the decision of BJP Govt with regard to scrapping of Article 370 and bifurcation of the State into Union Territories status.
The Regional Committee in a statement has demanded immediate release of senior Communist leader Mohd Yousuf Tarigami, to enable him to undergo medical check up at Delhi as he has been suffering badly from multiple health problems including chronic diabetes.
It was also urged upon the administration that leaders of all the political parties who have either been arrested or detained in their houses or other places, should be released forthwith. Moreover, all the political parties be allowed to undertake the political activities.
Lamenting upon the continued restrictions over the movement of people in Kashmir valley, Peer Panchal area and Chenab belt, the Committee impressed upon the Government to immediately lift restrictions in the J&K. They also demanded restoration telephone and internet services in the region.
