JAMMU, Aug 10: To prevent spread of COVID-19 infection cases in Red Zone areas declared by the Government of Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, the Chief Justice Gita Mittal has directed that courts will continue to hear the cases through virtual mode till August 15.
As per the order, in Srinagar wing of the High Court, which is located in the area declared as Red Zone, the hearing of cases will be conducted through virtual mode and the Judges will hear the matters from the residences or office chambers.
The advocates will cause their appearance through virtual mode from their residences/offices and Registrar Computers in coordination with Registrar Judicial, Srinagar will facilitate the hearing of cases through virtual mode and shall ensure that the links to the appearing counsels for participation through Video-Conference are forwarded to them well in advance.
Moreover, the Registrar Judicial will prepare roster of the staff in a manner ensuring not more than 50% attendance on each working day. The staff on duty will take necessary precautions and maintain social distancing.
Similarly, the courts located in the areas declared as Red Zones shall hear the cases through virtual mode and the Presiding Officers will hear the matters from their official residences or office chambers.
The Presiding Officers will prepare roaster of the staff in a manner ensuring not more than 50% attendance on each working day.
