Court rejects bail plea of HDFC Bank robbery accused

KATHUA, July 30: Chief Judicial Magistrate Kathua, Sandeep Koir has rejected bail plea of the accused in HDFC Bank robbery case that had taken place at Hatli Morh branch, Kathua, last month.
The accused, namely Jagandeep Singh, son of Deepak Singh of Ward number 14 Kathua, was detained for investigation, during which he disclosed the location of stolen cash and also narrated the name of other accused person who was involved with him in this case.
After hearing both the sides arguing on the bail plea, Chief Judicial Magistrate Kathua observed that accused was involved in a serious and non bailable offence. Further, she added, keeping in view the fact that recovery of few amount is still pending and in case if accused is bailed out at this stage it would thwart the course of investigation and there is every possibility that the accused may misuse the concession of bail and flee from course of justice and tamper with the evidence.
With these observations, court rejected the bail application.
