JAMMU, Apr 14: Continuing her drive to provide more development and civic amenities to the residents of Sainik Colony, JMC Councillor, Gurmeet Kour Randhawa started construction work of deep drain and culverts in her Ward.
A handout stated that in addition to construction of two culverts in Sector-G and C, the work of drain is in progress in Sector-A and C while one more work of tiling is in progress in Sector-A of Sainik Colony.
Speaking on the occasion the Councillor said that these works are in response to long outstanding demand of the locals of her Ward to prevent water gusting into their houses during monsoons.
“Keeping this foresight, the work has been started well before the onset of monsoon to lower the wrath of the season,” she said adding that efforts are on to get maximum funds in new financial year for Sainik Colony to ensure equal development in all sectors.
The Councillor urged upon the residents of her Ward to keep themselves safe from COVID-19 by vaccinating as per programme issued by government and follow basic guidelines of using mask, social distancing and hand hygiene.
Prominent among those present on the occasion were Satpal Choudhary, Gopal, Asha, Hemant Gai and others.
