Corrupt people getting encouragement in State: Vakil

SOPORE, July 14: Former Minister and Member AICC Abdul Gani Vakil today said that Chief Minister has the best opportunity at his disposal to curb and culminate corrupt practices in the State.
He said that despite having a short remaining time Mr. Omar can stun corrupt elements by taking strong remedial measures and initiating stern action against corrupt politicians and bureaucrats so that wrong doings of this Government on this front can be compensated. He said that everyone can acknowledge this fact that corrupt people have got encouragement due to inaction of the Government and in ‘India Today’ conclave Chief Minister himself expressed his inability to tackle the corruption on pretext of heading a Coalition Government added flavor to the taste of corrupt people. Vakil was addressing party workers convention at Nowpora Kalan, Sopore today.
Mr. Vakil reiterated that in coming Assembly elections people will seek answers in respect of the probes that were initiated or ordered by the State Government in supply of spurious drugs, PHE pipes scandal, land grabbing, killing of thousands of infants in GB Panth hospital, 80% nonexistent SSA buildings etc.
Referring to alliance, Congress leader said Congress High Command must give due regard to the desire and aspirations of the rank and file of the party and not forge any type of pre-poll alliance with any regional party.
Besides others who addressed the gathering include Sr. Congress leaders Abdul Jabbar Parray, Ghulam Nabi Shah, Haji Mohammad Afzal Khan, Javed Ahmad Masoodi, Master Ghulam Din Malik, Trilok Singh and Abdul Rashid Lone.
