JAMMU, Mar 27: Lesser known ‘Haq Insaaf Council’ leader, Zeshan Syed has taken a dig at BJP while stating that he is contesting Lok Sabha elections from Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary Constituency.
“My motive to contest these elections is to get relief for the people of Rajouri and Poonch for their problems,” Syed said while addressing a press conference here today.
He said that BJP is making blatant attempts to politicise the Pulwama attack and surgical strikes.
“The role of money in politics including bribing the voters is a big challenge to Indian democracy,” Syed told reporters.
He also said that devolution of powers in J&K should be at regional, block and Panchayat levels to end discrimination in development.
“People of twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch have suffered neglect over the years and I will work for them,” he further said adding that women empowerment, education, development, water and power supply etc all remained on back burner in the twin districts of Rajouri and Poonch.
