Congress protests against fuel price hike

JAMMU, July 14: Congress staged protest demonstration against the Central Government for incessant increasing prices of fuel and essential commodities, here today.
The protest was organised under the leadership of Gurmeet Singh, District Congress general secretary, wherein the protestors and leaders were chanting slogans against the BJP led Union Government for price hike of the essential commodities. The protestors were also raising slogans for restoration of statehood to J&K.
Addressing the protestors, Gurmeet Singh highlighted various local issues including erratic power and water supply in the scorching heat, resulting of it the locals have been facing hardships due to indifferent attitude of the Government. “People are completely disappointment by the UT Government,” he alleged.
“The price hike of essential commodities is making life of common-man more miserable as financially distressed people due to pandemic are not in position to bear the extra burden and most of the people cannot afford to use their own private vehicles,” he said.
